sell out...really

I hate when I hear someone call someone else a sell out. It is a big thing in the black community to see another person that is doing well for themselves, but what they feel as acting "white". I never knew trying to get out of the ghetto and own your own home was acting "white". When did white people put a patent on wanting to live good. It is a big thing to call actors and singers sell outs, but I am starting to see it more and more in the comedy business. I think every ethnic comic thinks twice before stepping on stage to think about the material he is about to do. I have never really had anyone call me a sell out, but some of the most famous people to be call that are Bill Cosby, Wayne Brady and even Will Smith. It seems as though we hate to see a black person be accepted by not only blacks, but whites as well. For some reason you don't really hear to many people saying Oprah is a sell out. I guess it depends on the amount of money you make and how many free cars you give out.
